I have had a lot of foot, knee, leg, and some back pain when I heard of this new innovative shoes technology. So I figure I could order a pair to see if this type of shoes would really work in alleviating all my body aches. When I received the shoes, I was very excited to try them on. The color was more of a beige then a pink as shown in the picture. I put on the left shoe first. It was a little tight but I figure it would eventually stretch. Then as I tried on my right shoe, I felt as if the shoe was twisting a little bit. I figure it was because they were new and that if I wear it a little bit longer, the awkward fitting of the right shoe would go away. I tried it on a little bit on the first day. On the next day, I kept on wanting to wear them. When I took them off, it felt like something was missing from my feet. My foot pain did go away as well as all of my knee and back pain. The problem though, is that recently, after about a month of having the shoes, I felt as if my ankle was being twisted as I walk with them on. It could have been that I was walking too fast on uneven surfaces, but it caused a lot of ankle discomfort for me. This is why I gave this particular pair of shoes 3 stars. However, other people I knew who ordered these MBT shoes of a different style had no complaints at all. It could have been that this particular style was slightly defected. Still confident that these MBT shoes will become the solution of my foot, ankle, knee, etc... problems, I will attempt to order another pair but not of the same style. At least not of the same style until I read more positive reviews on them.

These shoes mimic what it would be like for you to walk on the soft, uneven surfaces of the earth without shoes-something the Masai tribe does and reportedly suffers few back or joint problems as a result. Sounded good to me; I did a search engine look-see and was convinced enough to buy a pair of these shoes. I have the white. They feel a little strange and look a little strange due to the thick sole and rocker design, but once you've walked in them and gotten used to it, the cushioning is outstanding-like walking on clouds-and the shoes force a proper posture which you may have lost if your back is hurting you. Plus, when you walk in them properly (instructional DVD comes with the shoes) the shoes give you a workout, toning muscles neglected by walking on flat surfaces, according to the manufacturer. I can feel the workout a bit, but I'm not at all sore. The video says you're supposed to increase your wear as you get used to them, but I'm not finding a need for that. I want more benefit from them, actually, and therefore intend to try using these on a treadmill. There are workouts available as well. I do wish the soles were two-tone all the way across with darker on the bottom so the soles wouldn't look so thick. (I have this upper design but the soles on mine are two-tone gray and white.) That's the one thing that bothers me is how therapeutic these things look. They try to make them look cool in the video-no can do. You just have a model wearing therapeutic-looking shoes. So I'm thinking I'll wear these mostly around the house. But I do wear them every day. I am noticing the advertised results but believe these results are limited by the fact that I'm uncomfortable wearing these away from home. BTW, If you have a medical issue, the manufacturer strongly recommends using the shoes with supervision from a physician who understands these shoes and how they effect your body. In a nutshell: great design, but a need for tremendous improvement in the aesthetics department.

I bought my MBT's 7 months ago and the bottom rubber around the toe is lifting. I contacted MBT and they informed me that since they are over 6 months old (exactly by 3 weeks) I needed to contact Resole America who can possibly repair the shoes. Mind you, I paid $244 dollars for these walking shoes. Resole America ask that I send a picture which I gladly did. Well, I was told these "walking shoes" should not be worn in water or dirt and that my shoes could not be repaired by them. Come on, you spend $244 on a pair of "walking shoes" only to find out when you have a problem that there is an underlying stipulation that you basically can't wear these shoes outdoors? I'm disappointed that I'm having trouble with MBT to stand behind these very expensive tennis/walking shoes. Buyer, beware!
Customer Review: Good idea-bad design
I waited for years to afford these shoes and FINALLY got them for my birthday and was oh so excited to finally get my MBT shoes! Well in all honesty, I love the sole design and how the spine is instantly put into alignment...that part is great. The things I do NOT like: The toe box is narrow and my toes feel like they are too tight in there although the shoes are plenty long enough. The uppers are thick, stiff leather which should wear for years but does NOT break in to allow them to conform to feet enough to be comfortable. They are extremely HOT which may be ok for cold winter months but that's only a few months of the year. I actually got mine in February and they were too hot by April and I live on the North-West coast of United States where our summers are in the 60's! The inside/liner is flat with NO arch support and very hard. They are really NOT comfortable to me. I am completely into fitness and anything that is good for the body so the idea of MBT was very appealing to me. These shoes could be SO much better if the upper was designed more comfortably. It would also be a plus if they actually LOOKED GOOD as well! I would have to say that the narrow toe box is probably the worst part for me as I am used to my toes being able to spread out enough so as not to feel claustrophobic in a pair of shoes.

I was shocked how easy it was to adjust to these. Im not big on the chunky style but it is like walking on a cloud! I teach preschool and was wearing nike shox. MBT's are much better!! I can wear them on a treadmill or elliptical but don't think I will be doing a kickboxing class in them. Great for walkers or someone that is on their feet alot at work! Im excited to try them out at my bar tending job, I go home after a 8 hour shift, I hope to have the same positive results. My advice is wear them at home for a day first. If you have any foot aches try them out!

I purchased these shoes for a better workout while jogging. When they arrived, I tried them on and they seemed a little tight even though I had ordered a half a size larger. I called the company and asked for a half size larger and they issued a RMA number. I sent the shoes back and within 10 days I had my new pair and they fit great. The shoes do all that the other reviewers said they would. I've had them for three weeks and I feel the difference in my legs and back. I hope these shoes last as long as everyone said they will because the only minus is the $245.00 price tag. Great service.`

Purchase a half size larger. If you have a really wide foot, beware there is not a lot of give in the toe box. I have not done a lot of exercising in the shoes yet but so far am happy with fit and comfort. I purchaed for toning benefits, not medicinal purposes but have heard great thing from friends about the relief on knees, back, etc.
