It takes a little while to get used to the rocking motion, but the shoes actually do force you to walk in a more up-right posture, which is what I hoped. The shoes also have a good arch support. Bought these after foot surgery and broken metatarsal in foot. They are a little strange to get used to, However soooooooo worth it!!! My hips used to hurt so badly, these shoes force you to stand straight and keep your hips and body aligned properly. What an amazing feeling....I can stand for hours and not feel fatigued. Definately watch the training video that comes with the shoes for great tips on how to use. This is the most expensive shoes I have ever bought. If they come out with some cute clogs, I'll gladly spend it again. Note: The podorthist said she has been wearing hers for over two years and they still looked great and continued to do the job!!

I am always searching for a pair of good walking shoes. Since I have flat feet, it is important that I wear proper shoes that will help me walk longer distances. I first saw these funny and interesting looking shoes on the feet of a shop floor assistant. I asked her about the shoes and she explained how she spends long hours standing and walking, and had reached a point when she was ready to quit her job. Then she discovered MBT, and she said that they helped her a great deal. I was a little skeptical when I heard her story, and decided to look it up on the Internet, and went to a couple of shoe stores to check out. Everybody gave very good references. I decided to give these shoes a shot and got a pair. The minute I wore these shoes, I felt the difference. I had ample padding and cushioning for my feet. I decided to buy the shoes, and on the very first day I walked about 3 miles...an unheard of thing for me since my feet start to hurt after a mile. It is has been a week since I got these shoes. I feel a bit sore, but it looks like this is an expected by-product. The bottom-line is that I am able to walk longer distances. I need to go back to the shoe store to have them check my gait, and improve it. This way I will be able to get the full benefit of these shoes. They are a bit expensive, but worth it since they improve your quality of life.

Some women convert all of their bras to racer back styles, tighten their straps up so much that they create a dent in their shoulder, wear only sports bras, or stop wearing bras altogether. For some women the problem is solved by a custom fit bra. However, none of these solutions worked for me, so I would use hair barrettes, rubber bands or safety pins to join my straps together to prevent another outbreak of FBSS.

Given the fact that I have found over 15 different items out there that offer solutions for either hiding bra straps or stopping bra straps from sliding, I would say that we are not alone in failing to find a solution through conventional expert advice. So, with all the choices available today, how do you decide which one to choose? It may not be as simple as it seems. Here are seven questions to ask yourself to find a product that will work for you.

1. How often do you need it? You may be one of the lucky women who only suffers from FBSS with on rare occasions. With all the different styles of bras on the market, some fit better than others and they never slip, but as we wash them (and for some dry them, even though we are not supposed to) the straps start to stretch. You could use these products to extend the life of those bras that you love and wear over and over again. Or there may be that one sleeveless top you like to wear, but don't really want to show your bra straps to the world!

2. How flexible are you? Many of the products on the market today require you be able to reach the middle of your back to get the product ON and IN place, something most women can't do on their own. However, some of the products can easily slide into place before you put your bra on, or easily slide into place. In other cases be sure you've got someone there to help you.

3. How tight do you want to pull your straps together? Some of these products pull your straps so that they meet in the middle of the back, others allow more room between the straps. What will be most comfortable for you? If you don't like racer back bras or sports bras, you may want one of the products that leave more room between the straps.

4. Plastic or Fabric? The Fabric style of bra strap holders are usually just like your regular bra strap and will leave more room in between the straps. There are also some plastic versions of this same style. Other plastic versions come in a two varieties: a hard plastic piece in a variety of colors that is roundish in shape and pulls the straps all the way together; or a very flexible plastic that is breathable and moves with you.

5. To see or not to see? Most of these products are not designed to be seen and are only meant to go on your bra straps to hide underneath your clothing. However some of the products may work for your tank tops and swimsuits as well and allow you the opportunity to dress up tank tops with some jewelry on your back.

6. How much to spend? The cost on these vary tremendously; some you can buy just one and some you have to buy in packages of 3 or even 6! They range from $3.50 to $15.

7. Are they guaranteed to work? If there was one single solution to any problem guarantees would not be necessary, so look to see if the product is guaranteed for customer satisfaction.

I have had a lot of foot, knee, leg, and some back pain when I heard of this new innovative shoes technology. So I figure I could order a pair to see if this type of shoes would really work in alleviating all my body aches. When I received the shoes, I was very excited to try them on. The color was more of a beige then a pink as shown in the picture. I put on the left shoe first. It was a little tight but I figure it would eventually stretch. Then as I tried on my right shoe, I felt as if the shoe was twisting a little bit. I figure it was because they were new and that if I wear it a little bit longer, the awkward fitting of the right shoe would go away. I tried it on a little bit on the first day. On the next day, I kept on wanting to wear them. When I took them off, it felt like something was missing from my feet. My foot pain did go away as well as all of my knee and back pain. The problem though, is that recently, after about a month of having the shoes, I felt as if my ankle was being twisted as I walk with them on. It could have been that I was walking too fast on uneven surfaces, but it caused a lot of ankle discomfort for me. This is why I gave this particular pair of shoes 3 stars. However, other people I knew who ordered these MBT shoes of a different style had no complaints at all. It could have been that this particular style was slightly defected. Still confident that these MBT shoes will become the solution of my foot, ankle, knee, etc... problems, I will attempt to order another pair but not of the same style. At least not of the same style until I read more positive reviews on them.

These shoes mimic what it would be like for you to walk on the soft, uneven surfaces of the earth without shoes-something the Masai tribe does and reportedly suffers few back or joint problems as a result. Sounded good to me; I did a search engine look-see and was convinced enough to buy a pair of these shoes. I have the white. They feel a little strange and look a little strange due to the thick sole and rocker design, but once you've walked in them and gotten used to it, the cushioning is outstanding-like walking on clouds-and the shoes force a proper posture which you may have lost if your back is hurting you. Plus, when you walk in them properly (instructional DVD comes with the shoes) the shoes give you a workout, toning muscles neglected by walking on flat surfaces, according to the manufacturer. I can feel the workout a bit, but I'm not at all sore. The video says you're supposed to increase your wear as you get used to them, but I'm not finding a need for that. I want more benefit from them, actually, and therefore intend to try using these on a treadmill. There are workouts available as well. I do wish the soles were two-tone all the way across with darker on the bottom so the soles wouldn't look so thick. (I have this upper design but the soles on mine are two-tone gray and white.) That's the one thing that bothers me is how therapeutic these things look. They try to make them look cool in the video-no can do. You just have a model wearing therapeutic-looking shoes. So I'm thinking I'll wear these mostly around the house. But I do wear them every day. I am noticing the advertised results but believe these results are limited by the fact that I'm uncomfortable wearing these away from home. BTW, If you have a medical issue, the manufacturer strongly recommends using the shoes with supervision from a physician who understands these shoes and how they effect your body. I waited for years to afford these shoes and FINALLY got them for my birthday and was oh so excited to finally get my MBT shoes! Well in all honesty, I love the sole design and how the spine is instantly put into alignment...that part is great. The things I do NOT like: The toe box is narrow and my toes feel like they are too tight in there although the shoes are plenty long enough. The uppers are thick, stiff leather which should wear for years but does NOT break in to allow them to conform to feet enough to be comfortable. They are extremely HOT which may be ok for cold winter months but that's only a few months of the year. I actually got mine in February and they were too hot by April and I live on the North-West coast of United States where our summers are in the 60's! The inside/liner is flat with NO arch support and very hard. They are really NOT comfortable to me. I am completely into fitness and anything that is good for the body so the idea of MBT was very appealing to me. These shoes could be SO much better if the upper was designed more comfortably. It would also be a plus if they actually LOOKED GOOD as well! I would have to say that the narrow toe box is probably the worst part for me as I am used to my toes being able to spread out enough so as not to feel claustrophobic in a pair of shoes.

I was shocked how easy it was to adjust to these. Im not big on the chunky style but it is like walking on a cloud! I teach preschool and was wearing nike shox. MBT's are much better!! I can wear them on a treadmill or elliptical but don't think I will be doing a kickboxing class in them. Great for walkers or someone that is on their feet alot at work! Im excited to try them out at my bar tending job, I go home after a 8 hour shift, I hope to have the same positive results. My advice is wear them at home for a day first. Bought these after foot surgery and broken metatarsal in foot. They are a little strange to get used to, However soooooooo worth it!!! My hips used to hurt so badly, these shoes force you to stand straight and keep your hips and body aligned properly. What an amazing feeling....I can stand for hours and not feel fatigued. I am always searching for a pair of good walking shoes. Since I have flat feet, it is important that I wear proper shoes that will help me walk longer distances. I first saw these funny and interesting looking shoes on the feet of a shop floor assistant. I asked her about the shoes and she explained how she spends long hours standing and walking, and had reached a point when she was ready to quit her job. Then she discovered MBT, and she said that they helped her a great deal. I was a little skeptical when I heard her story, and decided to look it up on the Internet, and went to a couple of shoe stores to check out. Everybody gave very good references. I decided to give these shoes a shot and got a pair. The minute I wore these shoes, I felt the difference. I had ample padding and cushioning for my feet. I decided to buy the shoes, and on the very first day I walked about 3 miles...an unheard of thing for me since my feet start to hurt after a mile. It is has been a week since I got these shoes. I feel a bit sore, but it looks like this is an expected by-product. The bottom-line is that I am able to walk longer distances. I need to go back to the shoe store to have them check my gait, and improve it. This way I will be able to get the full benefit of these shoes. They are a bit expensive, but worth it since they improve your quality of life.

Have you ever said to yourself, Wow! I just bought some beautiful, shiny sterling silver jewelry. Now, how do I keep it that way? Well, maybe you didnt say it exactly that way, but I am sure the thought crossed your mind.
Its simple, really. Keep it dry. Silver by itself tarnishes fairly slowly (some jewelers are referring to the tarnish as patina to give it a more positive spin). It is the addition of copper to the alloy that causes the tarnishing. Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Copper oxidizes quite easily when exposed to moisture. If it were a ferrous metal (containing iron), we would call it rust.
There are a couple of ways to slow the tarnishing of your sterling silver. You can not eliminate it all together unless you have the piece plated with rhodium (a very non-reactive metal in the platinum group). And, indeed, some manufacturers of sterling silver jewelry are now offering rhodium plated styles. There are also a couple of new alloys of silver that tarnish much more slowly. One is Argentium Sterling Silver, which has had some of the copper replaced with germanium. It is also somewhat more resistant to scratching.
If you have your regular, garden variety sterling silver, here is what you need to do. Store your jewelry in a zip lock bag. Get in the habit of saving lose little silica gel packets that come in vitamin supplements and pockets of clothing to absorb moisture. Add one of those to the bag with your jewelry. You can also purchase anti-tarnish strips that can be added to the bag.
Also, many tarnish removing polishing cloths contain a chemical that will help your silver resist tarnishing. Purchase one of these cloths and clean your sterling silver jewelry with it when you first bring it home. You might be surprised at how much tarnish your silver has already accumulated.
As with all jewelry, put it on only after you have applied hairspray, perfume and lotions. Give them time to dry so you do not expose your jewelry to those chemicals. Remove your jewelry while washing your hands, doing the dishes or taking a shower.

P.S. After this article was published, a good friend pointed out to me that the anti-tarnish strips really only last about six months. Then they must be replaced. I ordered this pair of MBTs after purchasing a different pair at a local store. I was disappointed due to the much lower pivot point in this shoe. Biogas is generated if organic materials are allowed to rot in closed, airless tanks at suitable temperatures (20-40 degrees C). The process that produces it is called "anaerobic digestion". Anaerobic digestion may either be used to process the source separated fraction of municipal waste, or alternatively combined with mechanical sorting systems, to process residual mixed municipal waste. These facilities are called mechanical biological treatment (MBT) plants.
Biogas, which is also called biomethane is about 20 percent lighter than air. It is an odorless and colorless gas that burns with clear blue flame similar to that of LPG gas. Biogas is a good fuel.
It can be used to fuel an engine for electricity, and afterward the waste heat can be used in a communal heating power plant then producing both power and heat. The heat given off can also be used for heating and drying processes.
Biomethane is a big opportunity because it is being viewed worldwide as an untapped source of energy that, upon recovery and pretreatment, can be used to supply a portion of a nation's natural gas needs. A number of new projects are being sponsored by the U.S. Government for this reason.
It is a regenerative (renewable) fuel with the best production efficiency of all biogenic fuels. Additionally, it need not compete with the production of human food products if the source materials are all wastes.
Biogas consists primarily of methane (CH4), a gas which can be burned to produce heat and electricity. Treated manure can also be transformed into a bio-fertilizer with high agronomic value.
It is most often collected and piped to an engine-generator where it undergoes combustion to produce electricity. However, during energy generation there is a loss of efficiency during transmission which would not occur if the fuel was used directly, where the energy is consumed.
It would be more efficient to use it say in a vehicle at the point at which the energy is consumed. It can be compressed, much like natural gas , and used to power motor vehicles. Both natural gas and biogas can be used in petrol vehicles relatively easily, but some engine adjustments are necessary. For passenger cars, there are purpose-built vehicles that can be fueled with both petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG). But CNG powered transport still only plays a small role within even the most developed German market, (60,000 vehicles to date) although popularity is rising, particularly among local transport authorities.
Biomethane is also used in Sweden as vehicle fuel. It has been reported that at least seven units for upgrading and filling of biogas are in operation at present. It is a renewable energy source because it is extracted from the natural circulation of carbon which has always taken place, and importantly creates no net increase in carbon in the atmosphere.
Biogas is not utilised as vehicle fuel anywhere near as effectively as it could be, and there are almost no biogas upgrading plants available in AD Plants.
There are also no NGV vehicles for use of compressed natural gas (CNG) or biogas available to the public or sold in many countries.
While in the short-term there is potential for biomethane as a fuel, a further significant role also exists which could be played in the mid-term by biomethane-to-liquid by using biomethane as the input for the gas-to-liquid process. This should be noted although we will not have room to discuss it further here.
Biogas being a renewable fuel, attracts renewable energy subsidies in many parts of the world. The fact that biogas could be used much more effectively in the west can be seen from the fact that it already serves more than one million people in Nepal (reported at 4% of the population). The AD sector is also a significant employer and it reportedly provides about 11,000 permanent jobs in the country. If anyone needed to be convinced that 'small scale can be big' then they need look no further that the Nepalese experience!
Anaerobic digestion which produces this gas is basically a simple process carried out in a number of steps that can use almost any organic material as a substrate. It occurs naturally in digestive systems, marshes, rubbish dumps, septic tanks and in the Arctic Tundra.
Most people in the west producing this gas tend to seem to make the process as complicated as possible by trying to improve on nature in complex machines, but a simple approach is also possible, as seen in Nepal, China, South America and India.
The other remaining products, after digestion can also be useful. Further research and implementation of drying digestates from biogas plants would also be useful however it is a totally new field of application to the west. Very similar, manure drying tunnels are not in themselves a novelty, however, up to now they are largely only used for drying poultry manure prior to combustion.
So, all the various methods of producing biomethane need further development, but this can be done quite rapidly, and then biogas has a big chance of being able to reduce our carbon footprints.

These insoles are so comfortable. Even on long walks, my feet don't hurt. I don't know about the anti-cellulite aspect, but they would work for anyone who is on their feet a lot.

If you are reading this article you must have experienced this scenario at some point in time: You are standing there talking to your boss, a customer, or perhaps it is a crowded room full of people and you feel the slow creep of your bra strap as it starts slipping down off your shoulder...what do you do? Do you "adjust" yourself in public by reaching into your shirt and putting that wayward strap back up onto your shoulder? Or do you suffer through the minutes waiting till you have a private moment to step out of the way and put it back?
There are many solutions to solving FBSS (Falling Bra Strap Syndrome). I would first recommend you follow the advice of bra fitting experts and make sure you have the correct size bra, since once you have exhausted the wide range of expert advice your alternatives become limited. Some women convert all of their bras to racer back styles, tighten their straps up so much that they create a dent in their shoulder, wear only sports bras, or stop wearing bras altogether. For some women the problem is solved by a custom fit bra. However, none of these solutions worked for me, so I would use hair barrettes, rubber bands or safety pins to join my straps together to prevent another outbreak of FBSS.
Given the fact that I have found over 15 different items out there that offer solutions for either hiding bra straps or stopping bra straps from sliding, I would say that we are not alone in failing to find a solution through conventional expert advice. So, with all the choices available today, how do you decide which one to choose? It may not be as simple as it seems. Here are seven questions to ask yourself to find a product that will work for you.
1. How often do you need it? You may be one of the lucky women who only suffers from FBSS with on rare occasions. With all the different styles of bras on the market, some fit better than others and they never slip, but as we wash them (and for some dry them, even though we are not supposed to) the straps start to stretch. You could use these products to extend the life of those bras that you love and wear over and over again. Or there may be that one sleeveless top you like to wear, but don't really want to show your bra straps to the world!
2. How flexible are you? Many of the products on the market today require you be able to reach the middle of your back to get the product ON and IN place, something most women can't do on their own. However, some of the products can easily slide into place before you put your bra on, or easily slide into place. In other cases be sure you've got someone there to help you.
3. How tight do you want to pull your straps together? Some of these products pull your straps so that they meet in the middle of the back, others allow more room between the straps. What will be most comfortable for you? If you don't like racer back bras or sports bras, you may want one of the products that leave more room between the straps.
4. Plastic or Fabric? The Fabric style of bra strap holders are usually just like your regular bra strap and will leave more room in between the straps. There are also some plastic versions of this same style. Other plastic versions come in a two varieties: a hard plastic piece in a variety of colors that is roundish in shape and pulls the straps all the way together; or a very flexible plastic that is breathable and moves with you.
5. To see or not to see? Most of these products are not designed to be seen and are only meant to go on your bra straps to hide underneath your clothing. However some of the products may work for your tank tops and swimsuits as well and allow you the opportunity to dress up tank tops with some jewelry on your back.
6. How much to spend? The cost on these vary tremendously; some you can buy just one and some you have to buy in packages of 3 or even 6! They range from $3.50 to $15.
7. Are they guaranteed to work? If there was one single solution to any problem guarantees would not be necessary, so look to see if the product is guaranteed for customer satisfaction.

Great product, fits well and gives that unique MBT cushion and stride. I Teach High School Science, so I'm on my feet all day long. With other shoes and custom orthotics, my feet would hurt at the end of the day, not so with my MBT's.

They are definitely different than other shoes, but for me its a good different.

I heard of MBT shoes from a mutual friend who stated by using these shoes, he experienced less pain and discomfort in his legs. He was absolutely correct. Putting on my MBT shoes brought about considerable relief to my legs and feet, and I could walk greater distances with ease. I was so enthused about the shoes that I invited my Physical Therapist to put them on and work in them. I was afraid he wasn't going to return them. Same thing with my Chiropractor. Putting my shoes on he felt that they would benefit anyone experiencing LBP and leg discomfort. I highly recommend them and plan on a second pair in black, so I may wear my shoes for any occasion.
